Description of NFPA 853 2003

Per NFPA's requirements, when purchasing NFPA 2021 Standards and/or 2020 NFPA 70 (NEC), you must subscribe to at least one more NFPA Standard to complete your purchase. Broader in scope to address fuel cell plants of all sizes!

NFPA 853 specifically addresses fire protection requirements for fuel cell power plants. Whereas the 2000 edition covered only stationary fuel cell power plants above 50 kW, the scope of the 2003 NFPA 853 has been expanded to address the design, construction, and installation of stationary fuel cell power plants of all sizes. This major change was made in response to the developing market in smaller stationary fuel cell power plants. The Standard has been revised accordingly to reflect the fire protection needs for both small and large stationary fuel cells.
