Description of NFPA 33 2007

Per NFPA's requirements, when purchasing NFPA 2021 Standards and/or 2020 NFPA 70 (NEC), you must subscribe to at least one more NFPA Standard to complete your purchase. In order to fulfill this requirement, we automatically add 2019 NFPA 900 to your cart. This title may be removed during checkout if you choose to add a different NFPA standard to your cart, and pricing will be recalculated accordingly.

Reduce fire and explosion hazards for workers who spray volatile substances with NFPA 33.

Apply NFPA 33 and boost fire safety on the job with the latest rules for the construction of spray rooms and spray booths, along with their electrical systems, ventilation, fire protection systems, handling of flammable liquids, operations, and maintenance.

Revisions in the 2007 edition that improve fire prevention and fire protection include:

  • Clearer definition of what is and is not considered to be a spray area
  • Recognition of the NEC® zone system of classifying hazardous locations for Class II (dust/powder) locations
  • Allowance of fire retardant combustible construction materials for ductwork connected to powder coating spray booths
  • Better correlation with NFPA 30 rules concerning maximum quantities of flammable and combustible liquids
  • New rules for protection of spray area exhaust ducts
  • Guidance for designating some highly resistive work pieces as grounded, if they meet specified criteria
  • More definitive requirements for drying, curing, fusion apparatus used in limited finishing workstations

Don't take chances around flammable and combustible materials. Put industry best practices to work for you with the 2007 NFPA 33.
